Aston Villa Football Club also known as The Villans,  are a professional football club based in Witton, Birmingham, who play in the Premier League, the highest level of English football. Founded in 1874, they have played at their current home ground, Villa Park, since 1897. Aston Villa were founder members of The Football League in 1888. They were also founder members of the Premier League in 1992, and have remained there ever since.

Aston Villa launched Villa in the Community, a new charity and the banner under which all of the Club’s social responsibility and community work falls under in 2013.  Villa in the Community became the Aston Villa Foundation in 2015.

Aston Villa Foundation provides Leadership training,  Leadership in Action, help with reaching the right learners, the use of their experienced coaches and mentors and the power of football to help transform young people’s lives.

Leadership Development – FA Level 1 Coaching, Mentoring, Safeguarding, First Aid and Referee Training.

Leadership in Action  – Coaching and mentoring younger children through football club outreach programmes across the community.

Our academic partner for the AAT studies is South & City College Birmingham.

South & City College Birmingham

South & City College Birmingham is our education delivery partner for the Aston Villa cohort.

In 2015-16 we piloted delivery of AAT Level 2 by South & City College Birmingham at Villa Park stadium as part of  the 4 month pre-employment programme and Level 3 is being delivered on a day-release basis at Digbeth Campus as part of a 12 month apprenticeship.
