Leadership Through Sport & Business is a social mobility charity that gives bright young people from disadvantaged backgrounds access to meaningful work with major firms.
Our life-changing programme prepares and supports bright young people from disadvantaged backgrounds into quality employment, making sure those at risk of under-employment find careers equal to their ambition and ability.
This is our fourth year working in Birmingham. We are getting ready to recruit our fifth intake of young people from across the West Midlands, and have some exciting plans.
We’re looking for someone to manage and develop our Birmingham cohorts in a partnership with Aston Villa Foundation and Birmingham Metropolitan College.
We are seeking someone who can be a role model and inspire young people. The successful candidate will have a proven commitment to improving the lives of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds with a good understanding of social mobility, diversity and inclusion issues.
They will ideally have some experience of workforce development and improving employment prospects for young people. They will have excellent communication skills, be adaptable and able to build relationships with different stakeholders and operate within corporate environments.
We are keen to attract more young women to the programme and in particular young women from Asian or British Asian communities in and around Birmingham. The successful applicant will be integral to developing and delivering initiatives to increase the number of young women participating in and completing our programmes.
